Kuala Namu International Airport

Kuala Namu is an airport in development. Located in North Sumatra, it is scheduled for completion in late 2009 or early 2010. When completed, it will be the second largest airport in Indonesia, and certainly the most modern airport in Indonesia yet.

Below is the artist impression of the aiport terminal building. This is supposedly the most updated version though.

The exact location of the aiport is here.

Hopefully the project can be completed in time.. When completed, the airport will also be a major hub for domestic as well as international flights in Indonesia, particularly for Sumatra island. When the time comes, I will gladly bid farewell to our dear old Polonia Airport, which I will not forget though.. I will be looking forward to flying to India, Middle East, or even Europe direct from this airport..

Rute TransJakarta

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I found a website that publishes TransJakarta routes. Here's a link to the website: click here

I find that it's an interesting website as you can locate all the bus shelters of the TransJakarta network.

If you have no idea what TransJakarta is, check this out: click here

Essentially, it is a decent effort from the provincial government of Jakarta to improve public transport in heavy-traffic streets of Jakarta.

Indonesia 101

The Republic of Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia. Comprising 17,508 islands, it is the world's largest archipelagic state. With a population of 222 million people in 2006, it is the world's fourth most populous country and the most populous Muslim-majority nation; however, no reference is made to Islam in the Indonesian constitution. Indonesia is a republic, with an elected legislature and president. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

It happened to be the country in which I was born. So if you ever wonder why I posted this, there you have it..
